Spring Tide at Saltdean - Huge Waves Breaking Over Chalk Cliffs

Description

'Spring tides' occur twice each month during the full moon and new moon.

On the Undercliff Walk at Saltdean in East Sussex, the high tide combined with a spring tide generates dramatic waves which slam into the promenade and spray upwards; often soaking walkers, cyclists and brave joggers running the gauntlet between the beach huts and the end of the promenade.

Monochrome edition. Previously exhibited at Littlehampton Museum as an aluminium print.
